Magic City Grey
I was stuck between the tracks when the storm blowed in
Water rising from the bottoms of my shoes
Baby’s on the edge of town she’s all that really matters now
I’m like the rain she’s like a cloud I only fall when she puts me down

Long a sideways avenue, flowing near the river’s mouth
There I held her hand and she held my hand back
Til it wore thin the best of me if I wanted two she needed three
Now she leaves her window free hardly cares to disagree

Magic City grey
In the windy haze
Of night still shines

Stoned on a memory, the sky’s rolling up ahead
But I’m not too far gone to tell that I am lost
Maybe I cannot repay the damages of yesterday
All the words I chose to say some that came out anyway

Magic City grey
In the windy haze
Of night still shines

So if you see me passing by, don’t worry about me I’ll be just fine
I tried to change my baby’s mind
That’s why I’m lonesome all the time
Guess I’ll be lonesome all the time
