Biography
Doug Jones was born in Toronto, Canada and moved to Calgary Canada in 1973. He learned to play acoustic guitar at the age of 21 and joined several local bands to play club gigs. After some time Doug put together a country band to tour across Canada. He spent twenty years in the music business, travelling across Canada playing cover tunes in nightclubs, festivals, at stampede parties and at corporate functions.

In the 1980s he took time away from performing to raise a family, and applied himself to several business opportunities.

Doug has now returned to the music industry and is actively pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter of original Country and Country Rock music.

Doug writes his songs with co writer, lyricist James Broydell, both of whom experienced many of the situations written about on Doug’s two CD’s called “Special Lady” and “Forbidden”. Doug and James met at a publisher’s networking function, in April 2003
and decided to collaborate on music projects called “Special Lady” and “Forbidden”.

The song “That Feeling” charted at number 1 on the ECMA (European Country Music Chart) in December, 2004 based on airplay throughout Europe. His second number 1 hit was from his “Forbidden” CD, called “Tequila, Salt & Lime and it charted on the USA, ROOTS Country Chart in March/2007. Doug has released several singles after 2007 that have charted on the ECMA Chart.

Doug has developed a unique country/country rock sound. Doug's writing style has been influenced by artists like: The Eagles, Bob Seger, Blue Rodeo, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and newer artists like Brad Paisley and Toby Keith.

He is currently performing and writing his songs with co-writers in Calgary, Nashville, New York and Chicago. Doug delivers his songs with great passion and enthusiasm, and easily connects with his concert audiences.

"Radio Creds" are votes awarded to artists by radio programmers who have downloaded their music and have been impressed with the artist's professionalism and the audience's response to the new music. Creds help artists advance through the AirPlay Direct community.

Only radio accounts may add a Radio Cred. One week after the track has been downloaded the radio account member will receive an email requesting a Cred for each artist they've downloaded.
