Ole' Loggin' Blues
verse#1
I take my skid way back in on a tote road, to see how many trees I can find. If I get lucky I can haul a full load and get these
loggin' blues off my mind.
I keep my baby's picture in my truck cab, where I can always see her pretty smile. It seems like she is staring right back at me. Well honey, I'll be home in just a while.

(chorus)
My chain saw is buzzin' for my baby. The sawdust is flying all around. I'm puttin' down those trees. I don't mean maybe.
Just see 'em piling up there on the ground.

verse#2
I haul a lot of logs out to the highway, where Joey helps me load
'em on the truck. When I get too danged old to cut the mustard,
that'll be soon enough to hang it up.
I've had these loggin' blues for fifty years now. I've been working
in the woods since I was a kid. I've worn my hands and back down to a frazzle, Just to keep my family safe, warm and fed.
(repeat chorus)

verse#3
I know the names of every tree, Just trust me. I must have hauled a million ton or more. My tools are getting old and sorta
rusty and my old back is getting mighty sore.
My baby just cant wait 'till I retire, so I can spend a little time at home. We'll sit around together by the fire and never more will I
have to roam.
(repeat chorus)
