This little gem came to me through real-life experiences. I have a family member who seems to like this story of heartache, tension & conflict. In real life, things like this happen, what with all the pressures of life. This song has the feel of songs done by the late Waylon Jennings. I love the Dobro & Lead Guitar sounds on this song - they set the tone & feel. I've been accoused of lyrics that are 'in your face' in dealing with certain situations. "You, don't sugarcoat.' is what I have heard.
I grew up on the mournful lyrics of Hank & Lefty along with 'three chords and the truth.' I guess all of this is a part of my DNA..so, it is what it is!
