This song came from a true story, a dear friend of mine from Roanoke, Va. was to take his 7 year old Daughter to her first dance. He called me for some guidance & after our conversation, this song was born. It has universal appeal since a lot of Daddy's take their Daughters to a first dance. It tells a tender story of our Daughter's growing up and the emotions a Dad can feel. Complete with all the traditional instrumentation, Dobro, Fiddle & Steel guitar, it paints a picture of one of life's treasured moments & bitter-sweet memories.
