We were honoured to be Leitrim band-in-residence in 2011/2012, an experience that enriched us both personally and musically, and one that will stay with us for a long time. Along the way we met some fantastic musicians and singers and Cathy picked up this song from one of Leitrim’s finest singers Fionnuala Maxwell. The song belonged to the repertoire of the mighty Leitrim balladeer, Thomas Moran of Drumrahill, and was collected by Seamus Ennis in the 1950’s.
