In God We Trust
In God We Trust
Derek McCorkell 2009

1
I don’t think much of political correctness
Cause it often goes too far
Merry Christmas becomes Happy Holiday
When our kids can’t pray in schools no more
Cause it offends folk in some way
This country needs the love of God, I hear you say

Chorus
This land was forged with Christian values
That’s the way that it should stay
And taking God out of the picture
Ain’t the American way.
We oughta stand for what we believe in
Don’t let it crumble in the dust
Say do or die and In God We Trust.
2
We all pledge allegiance to the flag
Though God gets pushed aside
Instead of standing tall and praising his holy name
A land once proud and free,
Bows to correctness in these days
It seems to me like a low down rotten shame
Chorus
This land was forged with Christian values
That’s the way that it should stay
And taking God out of the picture
Ain’t the American way.
We oughta stand for what we believe in
Don’t let it crumble in the dust
Say do or die and In God We Trust.
