Just A Spoonful
Just A Spoonful 1:44
David Honeyboy Edwards – vocal and guitar
Recorded at a Rosenwald School on the outskirts of Clarksdale, MS July 20 and July 22, 1942 by Alan Lomax for the Library of Congress Archive of Folk Songs
This is Honeyboy Edwards' version of a traditional song, which Honeyboy may have heard Charley Patton do. Charley Patton recorded it in 1929. It is similar to what Willie Dixon would have heard and used as the basis for his song Spoonful, made famous by Howlin' Wolf on Chess Records.
