Matchbox
"Matchbox" is a song with a deep history in the blues and rock and roll. "Matchbox Blues" was originally recorded by Blind Lemon Jefferson in 1927. Carl Perkins added additional lyrics and recorded his rock and roll-rockabilly version in 1956. The Beatles were fans of Carl Perkins and began covered the song in 1961. In this updated version Dave Sadler updates the tempo and adds searing electric slide guitar in blues-rock fashion to compliment the traditional lyrics.
