Grace

I had a dream, that all the streets were silver
There were pieces of gold, danglin’ from the trees
I said a prayer, dear god have mercy,
On yer children, down on their knees

Well the lord said son, you don’t have to worry
I've been watchin’ you all these years
I gave my blood to wash your sins down
and I will vanquish, all of your fears

Good will prevail, over the forces of evil
Might will make way, for the meek of heart
All yer travails, will soon be over
In heaven above, you can make a fresh start

And there before my eyes, lay a mighty table
Spread with milk and butter and bread as sweet as cane
And the lord said son, come and sit at my table
When this feast is done you can join your world again

And the lion will lay down with the lamb, and close his eyes to rest
And the forces of darkness will crouch and hide, cause they all failed my test
And your spirits will rise up thru the sky, and meet me face to face
And a lifetime of sins will wash away from a simple act of Grace

Well when I awoke, the sun was shining
There was the sound of children’s laughter, hanging in the air
I looked down at my feet, and all the flowers had perty little blossoms on ‘em
And I knew that He was everywhere
