In Praise Of God
This is the very first song I ever wrote. Yet, it's the last one I recorded. That's rather strange.

Originally, I wrote the lyrics to fit the melody of a popular Whitney Houston song -- "One Moment in Time". I had an audiotape (goes back a number of years) with just the music for the song. My daughter used it for accompaniment when she sang it as part of her graduation speech. She was valedictorian of her class. Our church decided to have its first talent show not too long after that, so the thought occurred to me to use this melody but 'desecularize' the message. If you try to sing this song with the melody of "One Moment in Time", you'll see it fits right in. It was quite an undertaking to completely change the melody and still keep the words I wrote. This is NOT a short song. Anyway, it talks about praising God as we ought to do every day. Unlike "One Moment in Time", I do not have any repeating phrases or refrains. This way, I can 'pack' more of a message in there. :)
