The Immaculate Conception

I used the melody of Ave Maria for this song about the Virgin Mary. She was conceived in her mother's womb without original sin. That was the immaculate conception -- conceived without sin. God's plan was for her to become the mother of His only begotten Son. Therefore, she would have to be without sin. Throughout her entire life, the Virgin Mary never sinned. She is the only human being who received the grace to avoid sin. When we pray, "Hail Mary, full of grace,..." we mean it. She was so full of grace that she never committed any sin. We need God's grace to avoid sin. She had more than any of us could ever hope to have. Let us model our lives after hers -- striving to carry out God's will at all times. Even though we will never attain her degree of holiness, we can ask for the grace to live holy lives.
We have many titles for Our Lady. Ark of the covenant is just one of those titles. During one of her appearances to Bernadette Soubirous, she told her, "I am the Immaculate Conception."
