Great Shape (For The Shape I'm In)
Great Shape ( For The Shape I’m In )
You know I went the other day to see my doctor
I had a couple things I need to get fixed
He said you’re doin’ fine for a man of sixty nine
I told him I was only fifty six
See when the hard times come callin’
They take a little something more when they go
I might be knocked down a peg but I can still shake a leg
Only somewhat just a little more slow
I’m feelin’ better than I ever think I will again
And I’m in great shape for the shape I’m in
I don’t hear nothin’ in my ears except the ringing
I keep on getting up to answer the phone
And when my knees start to freeze I take a couple of these
They always seem to put me in the zone
Well I’ve got aches and pains from my ankles to my brains
I can’t see the woods or the trees
And speaking of wood it don’t seem hard as it should
I’ve fallen can you help me up please
Sometimes I can’t remember why I went to where I am
But I’m in great shape for the shape I’m in
I ease the **** in my ticker with a little shot of liquor
It always lays me out on the floor
I have to take my Cialis before I go and see Alice
They said Alice doesn’t live here anymore
Well I’m bare up there where there used to be hair
And now it’s where it shouldn’t ever grow
And since my get up and go seems to have got up and went
How come I’m always getting’ up to go?
I’ve got a pill for every ill I can imagine
I just bought my Pharmacist a new car
And my stash of cash took a hell of a bash
I should’ve kept It all in a jar
You know you’ve gotta have a little sense of humor
Or time won’t leave you nothing at all
You see it’s always a challenge to live life with a balance
I told the doctor I would see him next fall
He said you’d better write a letter to your next of kin
But I’m in great shape for the shape I’m in
I’m in great shape for the shape I’m in
