Friday Night Jesus
Soon as the doors are open the faithful come ‘a rollin’ on in
Praying that it’s time to turn the water into wine once again
I keep pouring as they’re pouring out their sins

Sometimes I feel like a Friday night Jesus
Here to listen and to lift their spirits up
I’m not a teacher and I’m dang sure not a preacher
But no matter what they say I’ll never judge
Sometimes the broken need someone to pick up the pieces
So I become their Friday night Jesus

They call me bartender
When they’re too drunk to remember my name
Bar stool therapy sessions
Hundred proof confessions ease the pain
No matter who’s to blame
Saints or sinners
Every story sounds the same

Sometimes I feel like a Friday night Jesus
Here to listen and to pick their spirits up
I’m not a teacher and I’m dang sure not a preacher
But no matter what they say I’ll never judge
Sometimes the broken need someone to pick up the pieces
So I become their Friday night Jesus

So I become their Friday night Jesus
