One Little Light
One Little Light
She’s just an old woman who lives alone
No family or friends and her husband long gone
The stars have all faded her eyes are too weak
And she whispers a prayer as she lays down to sleep

One little light, Lord, would brighten my life
Just someone to talk to when I fear the dark
I can’t read the good book, I’m losing my sight
Lord, won’t you send me one little light

She’s thinking she’s too tired to live anymore
When one day a young girl appears at her door
Saying, “Me and my mama live just down the way
And she sent me to ask can I help you today.”

One little light, Lord, would brighten my life
Just someone to talk to when I fear the dark
I can’t read the good book, I’m losing my sight
Lord, won’t you send me one little light

Well that sweet little angel found so much to do
She swept and she cleaned and before she was through
She came and sat down at that old woman’s side
And read from the Gospel to her as she cried

One little light, Lord, would brighten my life
Just someone to talk to when I fear the dark
I can’t read the good book, I’m losing my sight
Thank you for sending one little light
Thank you for sending one little light
