Coro - Sexy Lady
  • Sexy Lady
Biography
With a career spanning more than 20 years, Coro has proven himself to be a major force in the world of dance music. His Billboard charting hits can be heard on stage at KTU’s Beatstock, Atlantic City’s Taj Mahal and more, while his latest single “Sexy Lady” is making waves on the radio.
Coro grew up in Miami, the product of a Dominican mother and a Cuban father. His first shot at fame came as an actor in national television commercials, Don Johnson’s “Heartbeat” video and various episodes of Miami Vice. But singing was always Coro’s first love, having first found his voice in choir at age 8. He began working on a demo with dance music producer Tolga and later became a background vocalist and dancer on pop/dance artist Stevie B.’s first tour.
Coro’s first single followed soon after in 1988, when an audition for producer Zahid Tariq in New York resulted in “Where Are You Tonight,” a freestyle track that reached the top 25 on Billboard's Club Chart. Coro achieved success in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Three follow-up singles, "Can't Let You Go", "Fallen Angel", and his ballad "Missing You" on Charisma/Virgin Records were released on his self-titled album in 1992.
Throughout his career, Coro has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of dance music’s best-known artists and legends. Top-rated New York dance music radio station WKTU asked Coro to collaborate with Crystal Waters, Jana, Tina Ann, Reina, and Rich Luzzi for a remake of "Whiter Shade of Pale" for Beatstock 2002. He made a cameo appearance in Boricua Bond starring Big Pun, Fat Joe, Frankie Negron, and has also worked with heavy-hitting producers like Mike Cruz, Kenny "Dope" Diaz, Sean James, Artie Rodriguez, Javier Riva and Gally Molina. In 2008, Coro was invited onto a Boy Wonder project with Chosen Few, one of today’s biggest Reggeton movements. They remixed “Where Are You Tonight,” featuring Coro, Fuego, and Baby Psycho to such great success that Coro had a chance to perform the record with Victor Manuel at Central Park.
Coro’s latest project is the dance hit “Sexy Lady,” which shows him returning to his dance roots after a foray into Christmas music in 2009. Coro co-wrote and co-produced “Sexy Lady” with Elis Miah from Orange Factory. The song is already making big noise around the country and has been given the remix treatment by Vic Latino and Giuseppe D. In an industry where fads and artists come and go, Coro has proven he has the sound, the style and the longevity to make an impact in this business for years to come.
