11. STREET SAGE (3:55)

Songwriter: Robert Weingartz, Clay DuBose, Will Ray
Publishing & PRO: Street Sage Music / ASCAP

"'Street Sage' was an amazing adventure in the streets of Hollywood, CA. I spent a day with an old, sparkly-eyed homeless man living his life, through his eyes, his struggles and even his odd happiness. For breakfast we drank 40 ounce Old English 800 malt liquor in a stairwell and ate hamburgers from Jack In The Box. We travelled the sidewalks with his grocery cart, hanging out in shaded areas and smoking American Spirit cigarettes. Life through his eyes with all the insults he endured in a single day was tragic and disturbing… he still smiled and blessed all that passed by us. During our feast of a Mexican dinner we ate well, toasted expensive tequila shots while he told me interesting, magical and grand stories of his youth lived within the famed music scene of Haight Ashbury in San Francisco during the sixties. His name was Anthony… we dubbed him Sir Anthony… the original ‘Steet Sage'." ~ Robert Weingartz
