Since, 1997, Gene Mitchell has released 12 CDs of original island/beach influenced jazzy pop, country, calypso and adult contemporary songs. "Tropical Country" is his 12th and contains a variety of musical styles and lyrical themes. "Island Party" is the best of series and contains 12 upbeat island style tunes and is the most downloaded CD on iTunes.
Gene also has a full length CD of original Christmas songs, "Christmas In Paradise."
Highlights of his career include the headline entertainment for the 2007 Capital One Bowl halftime show on ABC, with 17 million TV viewers and 65,000 live. He was chosen because they wanted him to play three of his original songs.
His music is heard on Sirius/XM amongst 100s of radio stations that feature island/vacation theme music. Also his music has been featured on Fox and MSNBC as bumper music on talk shows and major network news shows. Over 100 original songs are available on iTunes.
All this has been accomplished "after" a very successful Naval Career. Gene is still writing and recording.
