Compassion and Love
COMPASSION AND LOVE

They have taken the land
After shaking their hand
While smiling and saying they’re friends
Building houses and walls
And damning the falls
Then shaking their hand again

While they boil the water
The big wheel turns
Nothing is ever learned
The message is clear
To those who can hear
We’ve lost our compassion and love

As the East fights the West
Mother Earth holds her breath
We wonder where will it end
Martyrs pray then they die
Bombs fall from the sky
Civilians exit where they can

One wants the oil
The other the world
Believing that’s what they deserve
Not much to explain
The worlds gone insane
We’ve lost our compassion and love

Where did they go?
Does anyone know?
Are we concerned?
Will they return?

Send our children to school
To learn all the rules
Trusting they will make it home
Later when they arrive
Find no one inside
They spend their time all alone

Computers and games
They go down in flames
Connecting with no one they know
Like a pure driven snow
Their pure heart grows cold
We’ve lost our compassion and love

Well the message is clear
To those willing to hear
We’ve lost our compassion and love
