DIRT RICH
DIRT RICH
Chris Heers

I've got the wind in my hair I’ve got the sun on my back all day
I'm on a big dirt plow with a blue sky in my face
Well the work’s real hard yeah I gotta be honest with that
But at the end of the day I thank the good lord that

I've got 40 green acres in my own back yard
A bad transmission in a burned out car
An old tin roof, a dog named Dude, and a cow that we can't eat
Yeah I got this farm from my Grandpa
It's just the five kids and me and Ma
Well it don't seem like much but it is
Yeah I'm dirt rich

My Pa said son if money is what you want
Jump off this plow and shake off all this dust
But I never got far ‘cause my roots they run so deep
And I never met a man who was wealthier than me

I've got 40 green acres in my own back yard
A bad transmission in a burned out car
An old tin roof, a dog named Dude, and a cow that we can't eat
Well I got this farm from my Grandpa
It's just the five kids and me and Ma
Well it don't seem like much but it is
Yeah I'm dirt rich

Yeah we grow our own supper and we make our own wine
And the kids can all say grace
I wouldn't trade a cup of this dirt life for anything

I've got 40 green acres in my own back yard
A bad transmission in a burned out car
An old tin roof, a dog named Dude, and a cow that we can't eat
Well I got this farm from my Grandpa
It's just the five kids and me and Ma
Well it don't seem like much but it is
Yeah I'm dirt rich

Yeah it don't seem like much but it is
I’m dirt rich
