Black Door
Black Door (C. Cook)
Everybody’s got one you know I’ve got one too
A good man’s opinion don’t mean nothing to you
You made a dumb ass move and said some bad things too
Don’t roll me in the creek just yet and
Remember who you’re talkin’ to
Don’t get pissed at me if we disagree
Because we’ve got two points of view
I know who you are and I know where you’ve been
But where the hell are you goin’ to
You can say what you want it don’t matter to me
Because it ain’t worth the time to fight
You can’t turn a country boy into a city slicker
And you can’t paint a black door white
You can’t stop the world from turnin’
You can’t drink the great lakes dry
You can’t swim up Niagara Falls
There’s no need in wonderin’ why
You can’t buy love and happiness
Or say that it just ain’t right
I ain’t changin’ you, you ain’t changin’ me
Cause you can’t paint a black door white
Everybody’s got opinions
About the way they think it ought to be
Some things are better left unspoken
I say that sometimes ya got ta keep it
Sometimes ya got ta keep it
Sometimes ya got ta keep it to ya self
Don’t get pissed at me if we disagree
Because we’ve got two points of view
I know who you are and I know where you’ve been
But where the hell are you goin’ to
You can say what you want it don’t matter to me
Because it ain’t worth the time to fight
You can’t turn a country boy into a city slicker
And you can’t paint a black door white
