Life Is Good
Life is Good (C. Cook)
Well I’m sittin’ on this back porch sippin’ whiskey & tea
Sometimes I wonder about what’s going to happen to me
Because I know I don’t live quite the way that I should but
I’ll tell you people life is good
I go runnin’ up and down the roads drinkin’ on the job
Some know me as a nice guy and others a snob by the way
I don’t get paid as much as I think I should but I’ll say it again
I said hey life is good
It never pays to moan and complain
It might make us all feel better at the time
We’ve got a right to be happy it’s a sin not to smile
Sometimes it’s just around the corner
Sometimes you’ve got to crawl for miles
A job is a job this you must understand
Whether you’re hammering 16 penny nails or playing in the band
Just keep on carrying water and keep on chopping wood
I’ll tell you one more time life is good
Getting better every day
It never pays to moan and complain
It might make us all feel better at the time
We’ve got a right to be happy it’s a sin not to smile
Sometimes it’s just around the corner
Sometimes you’ve got to crawl for miles
Don’t live for tomorrow don’t dwell in the past
Just take every breath in deep like it’s going to be your last
And I know I don’t live quite the way I should but I’ll tell you people
Life is good oh it’s good and I’ll say it again
I said hey life is good oh it’s good then I’ll say it again
I said hey hey Lord! Lord! Oooohh…
Life is good
