From China to Appalachia, or is it from Appalachia to China? Many of our collaborations start with either a Chinese or American tune where we discover it’s “sister” tune from the other side of the world. As we played “Glory in the Meeting House” on banjo and cello banjo, Chao said, “There’s a Chinese tune a lot like that” and started playing “Leader’s Glory.” Related or not, they fit well together.
