Ready Salted
She lives two streets away but it might as well be
half way around the world as far as I can see.
She must be in disguise or she's just disapeared
'cos I never ever see her face round here.
I remember when she cried and I kissed her face,
tears were falling faster than any rainy day.
I remember what she looked like as I pulled away
and I told her that she tasted ready salted.
Staring at the window where she used to stand
and tell me what she wished for, oh a better man
would've walked across the glass roof of any factory.
Now she's looking for a braver man than me
But I remember when she cried and I kissed her face
tears were falling fatser than any rainy day.
I remember what she looked like as I pulled away
and I told her that she tasted ready salted.
