Two Wolves
Two Wolves

Grandfather, Chief of the proud Cherokee
You are much older and wiser than me
There are some things that I don’t understand
As I’m growing in years becoming a man

Walking into this journey of life
How will I know what is wrong what is right
There is a war raging inside of me
Tell me oh Grandfather what can it be

Grandson I’ll tell you the tale of two wolves
There’s two wolves living inside every man
One lives in harmony with all around
The other’s full of anger and wears you down

I too have struggled I feel them inside
There’s good and there’s evil, they constantly fight
Envy and sorrow, false pride, and hate
Challenging kindness, love, hope and faith

Sometimes it’s hard to live with these two wolves
Both of them trying to dominate my spirit
But grandson I see it there in your eyes
Your search is good, humble and wise

Grandfather I hear the words that you say
But there is a question that still remains
Of these two wolves wrestling within
How will I know which one will win
How do I know which one will win

Grandson I’ll tell you the tale of two wolves
There’s two wolves living inside every man
One is compassion the other is greed
The one that will win is the one that you feed
You ask which wolf will win?
It’s the one that you feed
