Coyote
They come around in the middle of the night
They’re his neighbors and his friends
Both making their living off the land
But their time is coming to an end

The farm just ain’t paying like it used to
He’s going to sell it to the man from town
Two hundred acres of woods and fields and streams
Turns to rows of houses on the ground

So howl away you old coyote while you’re staring at the moon
Howl away you old coyote
This land you call home will be gone soon
This land you call home will be gone soon

He hates to see all his land turned into suburbs
But he don’t know what else to do
We all need lots of money and nice houses
So he’ll sell the land to me and you

So howl away you old coyote while you’re staring at the moon
Howl away you old coyote
This land you call home will be gone soon
This land you call home will be gone soon

So he’ll say goodbye to the wilds of the farm
Money wins in the end
No more to roam through the woods and fields at night
The coyote his late night faithful friend

So howl away you old coyote while you’re staring at the moon
Howl away you old coyote
This land you call home will be gone soon
This land you call home will be gone soon
