The Bird Song
The sun comes up
I'm laying down
I can't seem to get out of bed
I head the birds singing their song
I remember, I used to sing.

It's getting hard to crack a smile
So I'd rather not get up and go
I hope someone remembers me
If I ever get out of this hole

I don't want to be afraid to be alive
But breathing reminds me of dying

Giving up is not as easy as they say
It's a nightmare, a hell of a thing
You try and move, but your body lays still
Like it weighs a ton of bricks

Some days are better somedays are worse
If you're lucky you can take your pick
When you're down and out and don't have a say
It can feel like your own your last licks

I don't want to be afraid to be alive
But breathing reminds me of dying
And your heartbeat reminds me of dying

Tomorrow, I know, the sun will come out
I used to sing that song a lot
I'll just starting singing along with those birds
For now, it's all that I've got.

I don't want to be afraid to be alive
But breathing reminds me of dying
And your heartbeat reminds me of dying
And the sunshine...
