GUITAR’S TUNE
Written July 15, 1979 ©

Sittin' round late at night strummin' my guitar. Tryin' to write you a song. Well, I know if you'd just give me time, I could write you two or three lines. Tell some stories, ease your worries all in beautiful rhyme. And the night braved by the moon as the guitar's tune ring on and on.

Like a rushing river out to the sea. Your eyes flow softly and long. There within them I can see all the melodies splashing at me. The gentleness of your harmonies all in beautiful rhyme. And the night braved by the moon as the guitar's tune ring on and on.

Once I was lost and my songs were so lonely. Now I know I don't have you forever but when I hold you next to me, I feel that melody come on. And that old moon caresses me and sings me a lullaby. Yes, the night braved by the playful moon as the guitar's tune ring on and on.

Like some majestic mountain you stand there before me just beyond my lovin' hands. Outstretched and reachin' I pretend that you never leave, there will be no end. But that melody echoes along all in beautiful rhyme. And the night braved by the moon as the guitar's tune ring on and on.

The melody fades and comes to an end. But that doesn't mean you won't hear it again. You say you need time to grow into a love you barely know. Well, I always be here to sing your song all in beautiful rhyme. And the night braved by the moon as the guitar's tune ring on and on. Yes, the night braved by the gentle moon as my guitar's tune ring on and on.
