New Brand Of Misery is the Debut Album for The Carl Bentley Band which formed in October of 2023. The group has great success in 2024 and are quickly becoming a regional favorite in the mid west. The album contains 7 songs that Carl Wrote and features 4 traditional bluegrass/country songs bringing a radio friendly variety of music.
Carl Bentley (Guitar/Lead Vocals)
Carl has been playing the guitar for more than 30 years and has been the frontman for various bluegrass and country bands over the years. Aside from serving as the lead vocalist for the band, he is also a skilled songwriter. When he's not making music, Carl likes to spend time with his wife Kristi and their children (Dakota, Mason, Megan, Morgan) and four grandchildren. Additionally, he is an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman.

Josh Coffey (Banjo, Vocals)
Josh began playing music when he was in his early teens, initially picking up the guitar and bass. During middle school, Josh was tasked with bringing an old banjo home to practice a few tunes for a close friend. From that moment on, the banjo became Josh's primary instrument for the past two decades. He has contributed to various musical groups over the years, including co-founding the Youth Bluegrass Group called "The New Old Timers" and playing with The Dead Strings in addition to the Carl Bentley Band
Caleb Garrett (Bass, Vocals)
Caleb began playing the guitar at the age of 6 and performed music and sang with his family. He was exposed to both southern gospel and bluegrass music while growing up. Caleb began composing music at the age of 10. He was a part of Mountain Laurel, Kim Robins, and 40 years late. In 2016, he took up playing the upright bass with Borrowed Tyme. He enjoys spending time with his wife and son whenever possible.
Jon Crouch (Mandolin, Vocals)
Jon began playing the guitar at around 12 years old and acquired his first mandolin at 16, sparking his interest in songwriting and a career in music. Originally from Salisbury, MD, he now resides in Liberty, IN. For the past 7 years, he has been a mandolin player for the Joy River Band and is also a country guitarist, singer, and songwriter. In addition to music, he finds pleasure in fishing, hunting, and various outdoor pursuits.
