SANTA BRING MIH BABY HOME (King Cosmos)

This King Cosmos original belongs in the Soca Parang genre, a subset of Calypso and Latin music, coming out of Trinidad and Tobago. It is especially popular at Christmas time; and reflects the upbeat, tropical feeling that is an integral part of the season.
Thematically, it resembles some North American standards, as it shows the irony of Christmas: while the focus is on family and people travelling long distances to be with their loved ones, there are still those who suffer heartbreak and are lonely at the time. If they had one wish, it would be that Santa would reunite them with a spouse or lover.
In the song, the adult becomes a child again, writing to Santa to have his wish fulfilled.
