Biography
CAMERON GREY is speaking to a generation. His platform is hip-hop and the message is simple: shake the cage, talk some sense, and see to it that his peers are inspired to make this the most powerful and knowledgeable age the world has ever seen. This is Generation whY!?

At just 24 years old, Cameron has already traveled a path that has taken him from the depths of a broken home to the top of his game as a songwriter, producer, philanthropist and ultimately, a believer. His attitude and work ethic reflect a mantra that says anything is possible if you just put your mind to it. “Too many people go through life asleep, going day to day without goals, dreams, hopes, or ambitions,” Grey affirms. “I hope and dream that I am able to wake some people up.“

Born in Harriman, Tennessee and raised in the small town of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Cameron Grey grew up fast. His parents were largely void of his youth as they battled their own struggles of alcoholism and separation. With his early life weaving in and out of the court system, Cameron was dragged through custody hearings, meetings with psychologists and his own run-ins with the law. He was labeled a ‘troubled youth’ but was ultimately just missing an outlet for expression. Enter: Hip-Hop.

The influence of music in Cameron’s childhood was stretched across a broad stylistic spectrum and began to make an impact in his life where nothing else could. “I was exposed to literally everything from Aretha, Al Green and Michael Jackson, to 2Pac, Guns and Roses and MC Hammer,” explains Grey. And as he continued to absorb music, it not only became an escape, but also transformed into his passion as the only thing that could keep him sane throughout his whirlwind upbringing.

While Cameron was investing in the music of those influential artists, he started to become creatively inspired as a writer himself. “I started rappin’ as a hobby when I was 16. I would rap everywhere I could and took any opportunity to rap in front of new people because I loved the feeling it gave me when they liked it.” And as that feeling progressed, writing and rapping became more than just a hobby for Cameron; it was taking shape as his way of life.

After high school, Cameron spent a short two semesters in college and quickly realized that life in a suit and tie wouldn’t be for him. He ditched efforts to join the corporate world and put the energy of his mind to focus on delivering a message through the power of his music. Grey immediately left his hometown and headed to Orlando, Florida to immerse himself in the world of music production. He had a mission and couldn’t be stopped.

“If you don’t do it yourself, it won’t be done right.”

This sentiment not only fueled Cameron Grey’s growth as an artist and producer, but is also echoed in the message of his music. The development of his music career is also proof of the results of living by that philosophy, as Cameron soon found himself thrust into the real world and on his way to making waves to a generation that needs to hear him.

Charged with the belief that nothing can stand in his way, Cameron has taken to the streets to make his mark. By layering a flow of inspiration and compassion atop thick beats, deep bass and heavy thump, his tracks move and shake with moody groove.

Grey’s musical hooks then mesh with lyrical continuum and lead followers down a path to overthrow the misconceptions of life. He’s powered by his own sonic boom while spreading message of hope that anything is possible. And while this energy is captured on record, it’s truly projected when Cameron Grey flows live.

“I live to perform. I feel FLOW while I perform and words can’t describe that feeling… life is never the same.”

By using his gift to manipulate his own energy through music, Cameron Grey is affecting the response of listeners across the globe. As his grooves resonate through bodies, his words activate minds. If you’re listening, you will be moved.
