It's a Mystery to Me
The king became a servant The master became a slave
The lion became a lamb For the world He planned to save
God imputed all my sins On His one and only Son
And there on Calvary His greatest work was done

It’s a mystery to me
Why He would die on that tree
How He became a substitute for me
Someday we’ll understand it all
On the other side we’ll see
But here below it’s a mystery to me

The Father became the Son The last shall become first
Somehow I’m born again And living water fills my thirst
All my sins became His own And now His righteousness is mine
An orphan branch Grafted into His vine

It’s a mystery to me
Why He would die on that tree
How He became a substitute for me
Someday we’ll understand it all
On the other side we’ll see
But here below it’s a mystery to me

Someday we’ll understand it all
On the other side we’ll see
But here below, it’s a mystery to me
