Every Time It Snows
I sat down to write the most simple melody and chord structure I could come up with. I tried to write the lyrics to fit the mood of the melody. The story just came out of the blue.
Every Time It Snows
There was a man who lived on a hill, in a house made of pine logs and stone
When the maple leaves began to fall, you could almost hear him moan
Chorus:
He said he had a love so true and she would never go
But she waltzed away with a traveling man
Now he crys every time it snows
His hair is white for he is old lived alone for many a year
He told me how that he lost his love, in his eyes I saw a tear
Chorus:
He said he had a love so true and she would never go
But she waltzed away with a traveling man
Now he crys every time it snows
Late one night the man had a dream
That he heard a knock on his door
When he awoke the lady was there
Now the man will cry no more
Chorus:
He said he had a love so true and she would never go
but for now they live alone on the hill and he laughs every time it snows
Now he laughs every time it snows
