Vengeance
Vengeance was written as an outlet to frustration. I worked for a boss that was always trying to knock my legs out from underneath me. I could usually see what kind of situations he would create to set me up for failure, and try to make himself look like the hero whenever he would correct the problem he created. Totally ridiculous, so I would have to play this little game and figure a way to keep my job. He wound up leaving and I stayed. As they say, “what goes around comes around”.
Vengeance
You tried to take me out the hard way, but I won’t be denied
I saw right through your wicked game, every time that you tried
Now how’s it feel when the table is turned
To be standing in my shoes, I wonder can you take the blows
Now that it’s your turn to lose
Chorus:
I’ll leave here smiling with my head held up high
No I ain’t looking for vengeance now that it’s your turn to cry
Remember the time it’s now or never and never was the rule
I took your best turned the other cheek
And you turned into the fool
I knew all along your sole intention was written all over your face
I’ll hand you back what’s been given now that you’re in my place
Chorus:
I’ll leave here smiling with my head held up high
No I ain’t looking for vengeance now that it’s your turn to cry
No I ain’t looking for vengeance now that it’s your turn to cry
