Not the Man You Knew
Another dead end dream, another empty room
Without the harmony, it felt more like a tomb
But it gave me time to think of all I should’ve done
The things I said to you or should’ve left alone

I spent time chasing rainbows and howling at the moon
I’m not who I gonna be but I’m not the man you knew

I got this photograph from our special day
It’s all champagne smiles and wedding cake
I’d like to travel back to 1993
I’d tell the bride and groom to work for the fantasy

I’ve given up the bottle and I’m telling you the truth
I’m not who I gonna be but I’m not the man you knew

I’ve lost count of all the lines upon my face
But I got a dozen roses wrapped in cellophane
And I’m not used to making calls from the road
But it was on my mind and I wanted you to know

I got a West Coast swing but I’ll be home real soon
I’m not who I’m gonna be but I’m not the man you knew
