No Turning Back
Songwriter: Alex Justin / ASCAP / Waylay Publishing

“ In 2007, I was asked by one of my hometown churches if I would perform on Memorial Day during the Sunday service. So, I searched for a song that would be both appropriate and well suited for my voice, but I was unable to find anything so, I let the opportunity go and forgot about it until the following night when as I drifted toward sleep, “No Turning Back” in its entirety unfolded in my mind. I then began the work of arranging and producing the song. After recording an initial demo, it wasn’t until the fall of 2009 that I had the opportunity to record in Nashville with carefully chosen players and engineers. The song was finally completed and released at the end of May 2010 to immediate airplay and a performance at the Pepsi sponsored 4th of July Celebration in Johnson City, TN to an estimated audience of 50,000. ” Though I had never considered writing a patriotic anthem prior to ‘No Turing Back’, it may have been inevitable considering that I was raised by a Marine Corp Sergeant in the hometown of Fort Watauga where frontiersmen gathered to deliver a crushing blow to British loyalists at King’s Mountain during the Revolutionary War.”
