Saturday Big Shop (live)
Saturday Big Shop

I’ve been up all night with my friends
And we’ve been drinking for a good twelve hours
Well some of them were good
And one or two were great
But now I’m starting to lose my superpowers

We’ve been chatting and joking
And drinking and smoking
And doing all the things that we do
Till someone checked his phone
And said, “It’s time to venture out
Into the world; we’re gonna need more booze”

And so we sent out
A party of scouts
Warriors all, strong and brave
With a carefully considered list of alcohol and junk-food
And we made our way to Kwik Save

Well I know you’re doing your Saturday big shop
But spare me the pitying stares
Oh well the light’s too bright and I wanna go home
Can’t get you out of my head
And it’s a proper nightmare

So I’ve got my basket of booze
And I’ve lost myself in the crowd
And as insipid music whines above our heads
I’m seeing red
And everything is just a bit too loud

And I’m coughing and spluttering
Choking and muttering
And trying not to catch people’s eyes
And as I pass another aisle
My basket catches on some tins
And I feel like I’m gonna capsize

And like sharks in a dark sea
The shoppers surround me
As they shout at their kids and they frown
And I’m not just a bit wrecked
I’m totally shipwrecked
I reel around and I drown

Well I know you’re doing your Saturday big shop
But spare me the pitying stares
Oh well the light’s too bright and I wanna go home
Can’t get you out of my head
And it’s a proper nightmare

I float downstream
Randomly drift and dream
My mind seems clean
Part of a big machine
The big machine could be stopping
But who’s gonna do this shopping
And those Rizlas
Aren’t gonna buy themselves
And those Rizlas
Aren’t gonna buy themselves
And those big blue Rizlas, boy
Aren’t gonna buy themselves

Well I know you’re doing your Saturday big shop
But spare me the pitying stares
Oh well the light’s too bright and I wanna go home
Can’t get you out of my head
And it’s a proper nightmare
