About the song: This song is from the point of view of someone mourning the loss of a loved one. My mother lost her life suddenly in 2003 and emotions and events that eventually turned into healing and acceptance were a driving influence for how this song is structured and arranged. In the beginning phase of a loss, it seems that one is clinging on to everything in their surroundings to feel the presence of that someone that was with them in a time that seemed just like yesterday. Friends and family come over with casseroles and food to help mourn the loss, grieve with you, and tell stories all the while you’re expecting by some miracle that it’s all a dream and that your loved one will walk through the door. The modulation transitions into the hearing the Word of God, knowing that our loved one has received their divine reward and that one day we’ll reunite with our loved ones.
