DAMNED OLE HURRICANE
Here we are in our little cabin, been Hunkered down most all the night
Storm rolled in just after dinner And we’ve been praying for Daylight

There was peace down in the valley, And the water sang where the river bend
Then thunder rang lightning was calling Til no peace could be found within
Wind has blown, trees have fell, the road is washed out by the rain
Ain’t much left but the mess of this damned ole hurricane

Then we go on out a looking, trying to find some signs of life
Across the field I see my neighbor in disbelief as he held his wife
She said;
Had clothes on the line now they’re gone my things are scattered on the lawn
And the Rain & the wind & the wind & the rain and the howling sound will drive you insane
Roof is gone off the barn, Storm destroyed the whole damn farm
All this Rain & all this Wind, I Never want to see it again
