Biography
Ben's career started as a pioneer for Black men in New York's fashion industry. He was photographed by world renown photographer, Victor Skrebneski. Shortly thereafter, Ben graced the covers of National Fashion and Editorial Magazines. He is still listed with the Ford Model Agency in Chicago, Illinois.
Ben's music career began simultaneously as he sang in New York night clubs. He began writing songs for Eddie Kendricks and Dennis Edwards of the Original Temptations singing group. Currently, Ben has written songs to score an educational video titled, Attitude Is Everything. The hit song is, Just Communicate.
Other titles are: From This Moment On, I'm Asking You, I'm Always Loving You, You Never Knew Me,This Time Around, and You Lifted Me Up.
Ben and his version of "Grown Folks Groovin" with accomplished saxophonist, ( who played with the famous Miles Davis) Glen Burris performed during the opening days of the Niagara Falls Casino in Niagara, Canada.
Ben is also hired to perform for special events throughout Chicago, Il and was featured on Channel 7 Television News program 'Someone You Should Know' singing acapella with his brother Lee Lawson.
Music and song are Ben's passion. You can catch him in deep thought, only to find that he is hearing music in his head.
Ben wants to solicit his smooth and soulful songs to top artists so that his universal messages can be heard and appreciated worldwide. Ben thinks it's time for music to get back to good, clean, inspirational, and feel good sounds that lift the spirit, mind and soul.
