The Tractor Boys
You’ve often heard it said if she ain’t red leave her in the shed
Or the John Deere is a mean green machine
If she’s not blue she just won’t do and the Case is a good yoke too
or the Zetor does it better every day
I grew as a boy with a 35 for my toy
Three cylinders in the block and a link box on the back
She could plough two furrows straight, And I had no air sprung seat
And the summer sun was the heater for the cab
Chorus
Well how times have changed and machines been rearranged
The tractors get much bigger every year
If there’s no six pots in the block and 200 horse to tap
They’d say she wouldn’t pull you out of bed
(Chorus turnaround)
Well you know those tractor boys they really like their toys
It’s their home away from home both day and night
Spreading slurry in the fog or hauling peat in from the bog
You can see their party hats from miles around
Chorus
