Trying to Move On
Trying to Move On

I go to work and act like everything’s ok.
I wear a smile for a little while every day, but the moment I get home, all that’s gone and the tears start rolling down my face.
I pull your picture from the drawer, kill the phones and lock the door, and I try to move on.
I’m trying to move on from our song playing on my radio.
I’m trying to move on, it’s been so long, but I just can’t seem to let you go.
So here I am alone, since you’ve been gone.
Trying to move on.

Every night I find myself in bed wide awake.
I end up in your pickup truck in that same place.
Remembering the call and the shock of it all, where they ran that light where you were coming home.
If they never drank that drink is the only thing I can think, but I’m trying to move on.
I keep trying, Lord I’m fighting, but I know that I’m gonna make it through.
I keep moving, but I’m losing at getting this old hear over you.
I’m trying to move on from our song that’s playing on, playing on my radio.
I’m trying to move on, it’s been so long but I just can’t seem to let you go.
So here I am alone, since you’ve been gone, trying to move on.
