Paintball Gun
She hit the road, no destination in
mind
Her head was set on go leaving her broken heart behind
A full tank of gas and a half a pack of Salem cigarettes
Eyes full of tears, she hit I-40 heading west
She’s going to keep going this time, no turning round
She was half way across Arkansas before she ever slowed down
As she crossed that Texas line that sun in the sky began to set
Almost out of gas and down to her last cigarette
And leaving is believing
She can make it on her own
Well I was over at Motel 5 with Suzie Sowers
I was having a smoke, Suzie was taking a shower
Then I heard my wife at the door
"Come out, I know you're in there George"
I was caught, and I didn't know what to do
So I went to the back and jumped through the bathroom window
I started running, where to, I still didn't know
Then I heard a little pop, I was hit but I didn't drop
I thought I was dying but I've never seen me bleeding blue
Shirley shot me with a paintball gun
Brought me down when I was trying to run
Me and Suzie were about to have fun
Shirley shot me with a paintball gun
I zigged and zagged and finally found a place to duck
Then that crazy woman started shooting at my truck
Now it looks like modern art, and I'm sore in some important parts
So before you run around, boys remember what happened to me.
Shirley shot me with a paintball gun
Brought me down when I was trying to run
Me and Suzie were about to have fun
Shirley shot me with a paintball gun
