Leaving is Believing
She hit the road, no destination in
mind
Her head was set on go leaving her broken heart behind
A full tank of gas and a half a pack of Salem cigarettes
Eyes full of tears, she hit I-40 heading west
She’s going to keep going this time, no turning round
She was half way across Arkansas before she ever slowed down
As she crossed that Texas line that sun in the sky began to set
Almost out of gas and down to her last cigarette
And leaving is believing
She can make it on her own
She’s over the grieving
Starting over all alone
Just keep on breathing
Till healing comes along
Cause leaving is believing
And She’s already gone
Do we ever get to where we’re going?
Or is it the going instead?
Will she get there without knowing?
And there’s a road sign up ahead
And leaving is believing
She can make it on her own
She’s over the grieving
Starting over all alone
Just keep on breathing
Till healing comes along
Cause leaving is believing
And She’s already gone
