Growing Lonely (single)
Got tobacco curing, not sure if I’ll go
It’s a long way into town and these clothes smell like smoke
But I was raised better than to lead a lady on
I ain’t done grieving, still hurt that you’re gone

Saw a smile at the picture and it reminded me of you
Then I asked her to the fair tonight, what a fool thing to do
She put her hand in mine and I couldn’t pull away
She don’t know I can’t move on from a thousand yesterdays

She’s pretty as a picture, sweet as Momma’s tea
My buddies say a girl like her is all I’ll ever need
But it’s hard to keep a star in sight, once seen, the harvest moon
And all I’ve grown this season is lonely without you

We shared a bright night sky, cider spice was on the breeze
Then I took her on a hay bale ride wrapped up in flannel sleeves
And when I closed my eyes to imagine me and you
It gathers all the memories that we once grew

She’s pretty as a picture, sweet as Momma’s tea
My buddies say a girl like her is all I’ll ever need
But it’s hard to keep a star in sight, once seen, the harvest moon
And all I’ve grown this season is lonely without you
