My Used to Be Blue Ridge Mountain Home
Way Back in the mountains deep among the hills
Is a memory of a cabin far behind
The times we spent together there are etched upon my mind
Just a picture of a life left far behind.
The place I called home is packed up and gone
Ruins and tumbled to the ground
Across the snowy bliss where we once walked the hills
Is my used to be Blue Ridge mountain home
The leaves no longer change snow melts off the ground
Each season brings a new way of life.
Crops no longer tended plows rusting in the field
And a simple life that we left far behind
The place I called home is packed up and gone
Ruins and tumbled to the ground
Across the snowy bliss where we once walked the hills
Is my used to be Blue Ridge mountain home
The mtn laurel blooming away up In the hills
That old rail fence is all but broken down
Mom and Daddy’s resting place is sitting all alone
In my used to be Blue Ridge mountain home
The place I called home is packed up and gone
Ruins and tumbled to the ground
Across the snowy bliss where we once walked the hills
Is my used to be Blue Ridge mountain home
