Lessons In Gravity
You spilled wine on your snow white wings
what were you doing with such fancy things?
Me, I never got to try them on
but they were beautiful to look upon

I took a long drive out to the sea
I felt gladness rushing over me
it'd been such a long time coming down
now it feels so good
to look around
at all the dreams that didn't take
and all the promises we had to break, Baby

This is not a tragedy
it's just a lesson in gravity
if the sky remains a mystery
I'd like nothing more than for this to be my home

So Honey here's to romance
or last night's indulgence
here's to drinking too much coffee
and talking 'bout the big dreams
wondering where they got me

Here's to finding forgiveness
for the wounded dog that bit us
now for Heaven's sake come home
for your mother's, for your own
come for mine I need a witness
I might not climb this high again
and these heights they are so frightening

This is not a tragedy
it's just a lesson in gravity
if the sky remains a mystery
I'd like nothing more than for this to be my home
