Aleksi Campagne - Dancing Back To Back
7. Dancing Back To Back / Quand on danse dos à dos
Drawing inspiration from my time playing in a Montreal rock band The History of Gunpowder, this song uses distortion and electric sounds to match its dark and angsty lyrics about betrayal and heartbreak. It is a testament to my belief that folk and rock are not opposites, like the historical discourse in the 60s around Bob Dylan at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival might suggest. I wrote the song about a member of my rock band who went through a bad breakup, and it seemed fitting to pay homage to The History of Gunpowder both in lyrics and in sound.
