I grew up in the folk community listening to activism songs about many different topics, including the environment. Although I am aware of the power of music to inspire action, when it came time to write my own song about climate change, the call-to-action format didn’t feel appropriate. Instead when I put pen to paper, I wrote about the existential dread I feel when I think about the current state of our climate.
