Biography
The up and coming talent of Alan J. Bloom brings folk, funk, reggae and rock to the stage with a personable and out of control quality. Intensity is his nature, making every bit of the voice he produces raw but sweet with passion. There is a wide variety of inspiration in the songs including love, death, mermaids, lust, and playboy models. The style of his original lead rhythms and strong lyrics make every song exciting and innovative.
Growing up in East Lyme, Connecticut made everything a bit more difficult than anywhere else due to the lack of a music scene. Alan picked up the guitar as a high school junior with no direction other than a few basic chords from his father and brother, teachings on the internet, and drive he had after listening to many hours of Dave Matthews, Neil Young, Santana and Pearl Jam. “I wanted it so bad I could feel it in my blood, so I pursued it to no avail. I really wanted to play the guitar and sing in front of people. It gives you a rush bigger than anything you would ever imagine.” After a few open talent nights at a local bar, he started gigging out with his brother and other musicians all over New England.
He got sick of hearing, ‘What the hell are you doing playing at this dive?’ or ‘You should really be somewhere else doing your own stuff’. He made the decision of moving to Music City, USA (Nashville, TN) to further his career, and hopefully it will. He’s ready for it.
He has played countless venues, private shows, and benefits to set him up for the “Limelight of Stardom”. The stage is now set for a new musical personality to enter the music scene and Alan J. Bloom is the one. His music is like no other and will make a dramatic difference in the way people think about their lives and the way they live them. “Do it to it,” he says, and by that he means make every second count in your life, like the songs he writes make you feel!
